Welcome In

I'm so glad you're here.

This painting, Welcome In, was inspired by the purple orchid leis that greet visitors across Hawaii. A lei is more than flowers. It's a gesture of welcome, connection, and belonging. It says, "We're glad you came."

A few months ago, I traded engineering spreadsheets for paintbrushes and discovered something unexpected: creativity has a way of helping us slow down and notice what matters.

So consider this your invitation.

Pour a cup of coffee. Journal a little. Hang the print somewhere that makes you smile. There are no rules and no grades—just a small reminder to make space for yourself.

In the months ahead, I'll share stories, paintings, memories, and a few surprises (including Blue Marble Mail coming in July!) inspired by beautiful places and the moments that connect us.

Until then, consider this lei my way of saying:

Welcome in.

Less hurry. More aloha. Stay awhile.

— Janina

Journal Prompt:

Where in your life do you feel most welcomed
—and how can you create more of that feeling for someone else this week?
